Overview
An office that feels like a workshop, not a warehouse
Northwind's team of fifty worked in a grey carpeted suite that nobody loved. The brief: keep everyone on one floor, kill the noise, and build a kitchen that could genuinely feed the team at noon. We stripped the suite to shell, laid engineered oak throughout, and built every desk, bench and booth in our own workshop.
The work happened in three phases around the working business — no shutdown days, no lost trading. Monday mornings simply kept getting nicer.
Approach
Phased around a working business
Phase one built the kitchen and breakout lounge first, giving staff somewhere better on day one. Phase two laid floors and fitted desks in halves, decanting teams for a weekend at a time. Phase three joined everything with oak screening, planting and quiet booths for calls.
